 THE MONKEY AND THE GOAT

One shepherd  had a monkey and a goat as pets .Everday the shepherd would take them also along when he took his sheep grazing. He would tie up the goat under a tree and would  leave the mon key free.The monkey loved  to play tricks on the goat. He would pull  the goat’s hair or jump on to itsback suddenly   The goat was not happy with the monkey’s behaaviour  but it did not say anything as the mo nkey was supposed  to be friend.

          One morning the shepherd was tending his flock. As usual he had tied the goat  to a tree.The monkey was playing on the tree.Suddenly it became very hungry .It looked around for something to eat and found the shepherd’s  luch box. The monkey opened it and saw that it was filled with curds riceThe monkey brought  it near the goat and asked  it to eat some of the rice. The goat shook its head in fear.It did not want to get any beatings from the master. It advised the mon key also not to touch it. But the naughty mon key sat down and began to eat  all the curd rice greedily.

      Just then themon key saw ther shepherd returning. Quick as a flash it jumped up and wiped its hand over the goat’s mouth.Theshepherd saw his empty lunch box and was filled with anger. He looked at the mon key but it hands were clean. Then he caught sight of the curds smeared over the goat’s mouth.thinking that the goat had eaten it. He thrashed it soundly.The monkey who had really eaten it just sat quietly.

    The moral of this story is that bad company ions will always get you in to trouble
